Hieronymus Fracastorius: Contagion, Contagious Diseases and Their Treatment, by Wilmer Cave Wright
Condition: VeryGood.
"*Hieronymi* is Wilmer Cave Wright's 1930 translation and annotation of Girolamo Fracastoro's pivotal treatise on contagion, *De contagione et contagiosis morbis et eorum curatione, libri III*. This edition features a dual-language format, presenting Fracastoro's original Latin alongside Wright's English translation for comparative study. Wright enriches the text with annotations that offer historical context regarding the understanding of contagion during the Renaissance, illuminating the evolution of medical terminology associated with infectious diseases. The book also highlights Fracastoro's influential theories, which became foundational to modern epidemiology. A treasured volume within the History of Medicine series from the Library."
So fresh it is confusing. Some mild chipping to the jacket edges. 1930. First English translation.
